To toddler proof a pool and help prevent any accidents parents have been advised to install an alarm around the body of water.
Speaking to 22News, Kurt Heironymous, manager of Teddy Bear Pools in the US, said these can be programmed to go off when a youngster falls into the water.
However, he explained the best way of baby proofing water and keeping kids safe is ensuring they are supervised at all times.
“As far as pool alarms go, they work fine. But nothing’s like having an actual adult there. You always want to make sure that you
know where your kids are around the pool,” Mr Heironymous stated.
An alarm is not the only way mums and dads can keep their children safe, as Thousand Oaks Acorn recently reported that a
child safety lock with a self-latching mechanism can be a useful addition to the fence surrounding a pool.
Similarly, this fencing should be at least four feet high.
